Ok.. go check out the details here This shows you where you can be dropped off, or park at Big Day In.
There are 2 Areas
On Habour Esplanade there is a temporary drop off place where 'Mum' can kick you and your PC out and you can take a lift to the check in.
If you are parking, enter off Burke Street into Car Park 1, drive along the yellow line, find a park and take the lifts up to the Victory Room.
Parking is under cover at Telstra Dome, at $7.00 per 24 hours, parking for BDI will cost you $14.00 for both days.
Make sure you have your Tickets ready, as check in Admins will be in this area able to give you your BDI TAG (your passport for the event...) and guide you on your way.

The lift takes 3 puters per time huh:
Stupid question BUT:
Assuming 10% drive(ie park in the car park rather than the mum drop off spot) (100 computers)
that leaves 900 computers to go through the small lift.
900/3 = 300 lift trips
At approx 2 mins round trip = 600 mins = 10 HOURS of lift operation....
Thats just to get IN....
this is one thing i think that should be LOOKED at!
If its like AGDC where it was about 6 mins round trip.....HMMMMMMMM when do we START arriving? today?

What happened to the nice easy method of driving all around the TD? That looked like a great setup, lacking the whole bottleneck syndrome that seems to have been setup here.
And don't call me "mum".

As well as that lift area at drop-off point 1, you can also walk up the stairs with your equipment. It will speed things up as there won't be as many people waiting for the lifts.
Also, there's the 15 minute drop-off underneath TD.

would the admins recomend for someone that is coming in a car, and parking
a) park @ temp parking. rego. get PC and monitor up the lift. come back, go park car under statium in carpark 1
b) park @ underground, and just rego and carry PC + monitor up from there?

A good thing they did scrap that idea, can you imagine - huge queue around TD and out to Latrobe St?
