Wondering what to eat at the Big Day In?
* Food such as pies, pasties and chips will be onsale at the venue.
* Saturday night pizza run (orders taken at help desk); $7 large pizzas from pizza haven, pizzas will not arrive till late.
* Saturday late night BBQ - free snags and hamburgers to rejuvinate through the night!
Player Lounge and Arcade
As is the custom there will be a player lounge for gamers to relax and put their feet up when they need a break from the action.
The arcade will be back with more free daytona, pinball and shooter classics.
The countdown continues - see you @ BDI!

What about the networked consoles we were going to get? Are we still gettin dem and which one?
Also does anyone know where to get jolt cheap - other than coles and that, that is if they wont be serving any jolt at BDI which would be a massive bummer :/

Just to clarify things,
MSL (Telstra Dome) have the exclusive catering rights to all food/drink at their facilities. This means we cannot provide this ourselves, free or otherwise. A bit of a bummer, but fair's fair- they want to make money to stay in business.
However, we've reached agreement with them that they will have a concession stand open from 11am until 10PM Saturday, and 9am till 3pm Sunday. The prices will be standard concession prices, and I appreciate that this is quite expensive for a lot of you.
An alternative during these hours is to leave the venue and buy and consume food elsewhere - there is a McDonald's nearby in the city (about 15 min walk). All food/drink bought outside cannot be brought in though so eat it out there.
You can bring your own food from home- just like going to a footie match. However, don't try to be sneaky and have an esky full of Macca's "from home".
In return for this, they are allowing us to provide food and drink outside these hours, namely after around 11pm Saturday night and through the night.
We'll have a BBQ off-premises (90 seconds walk) and pizzas will come. Both these will be quite late at night- at least 11pm and perhaps later- so keep yourself fueled during the day and evening.
We'll provide drinks during the night as well. At this point 2 cans of drink for each player (possibly more). This will be a combination of cola drink, water, and other stuff.
I'm also working on a way to subsidise the cost of a concession purchase (like $2 off one purchase) to help lower costs, but this is tricky (and expensive for 1000 players!) so we'll know on the day.
So there will be food and drink available all day and we'll have free BBQ and drinks at night (and $7 pizzas).
Many thanks to MSL for allowing this exception - there was a LOT of commercial negotiations necessary with unions, company reps, and Shafted.
Dir.

syk_goosoi: just to make things clear, if you do wander out at night and have a few drinks you will NOT be allowed in.
