has anyone noticed that the big circle that goes around the stadium that we drive around to drop off our equipment looks like/is a pedestrian walkway? are the telstra dome people happy too let 1000 cars drive through there, lol.

yea i guess or they would not have let BID do it :)

there are all ready car tracks all the way around it so i am guessing alot of people have gone for a drive around it.

i would have thought that only service vehicles, etc would have been allowed round there. It will probably be bumper to bumper with traffic when big day in starts

yeah, with up to 1000 cars arriving, isn't the queue of cars likely to wrap all the way around the dome and then continue to La Trobe street?

We've taken that into consideration thats WHY we are using the walkway around the dome as the entry, so cars can line up along it rather than along La Trobe St blocking traffic.

Assuming it takes 5 minutes for a person to VERY quickly unload their gear and drag it inside. Then one parking space can accomodate for 12 people in one hour. This means that 42 parking spaces will be needed to unload 1000 people in 2 hours.
The map mentions only 2 drop-off points with parking for 2 cars at each point. It just does not add up: say only 300 cars arrive - even then 13 spaces are required, which is more than 4 (and 5 minutes probably won't be enought for most people).
Am I missing something or will people be allowed to unload at any point on the walkway (and then it could be 2 or more long walks all the way to the Victory rooms)???

P.S. All this assuming that everyone will want to get there before competition entries close.

........ er, this is assuming that 1000 ppl from melbourne, all take there own cars....

there are about 50 down from canberra on 2 buses, then all of the ppl from varouis places going 2-3+ a car/whatever, the traffic will be hell, but not that bad becuae all of the interstate ppl will be pooling
